Billes 440C AMS 5618 avec revêtement carbure de titane (TiC)

440C AMS 5618 TiC balls

MetalBall manufactures 440C AMS 5618 balls with a thickness of titanium carbide, these balls are called “TiC coated balls”! From diameter 1,588mm (1/16”) to 6,350mm (1/4”) and Grade 3 quality.

New testing method : Etch Inspection

Metalball has implemented a small series Etching inspection line (NITAL) according to the AMS2649 and MIL-STD-867 standards as well as its dehydrogenation process in compliance with AMS2759/9 standard.
Two people are qualified following the SAE-ARP1923 standard.


Eddy Current NDT team

Congratulations to Jérôme who obtains his COFREN Level 1 certification.
The Eddy Current NDT team now consists of 2 Level 1 people (Héloïse and Jérôme) and 1 Level 2 person (Grégory).


Metalball manufactures his first Tic coated balls !

A historic first ! MetalBall manufactured his first TiC coated balls from 440C AMS 5618 balls. Balls have a Grade 3 quality! These balls are used for spatial application


Material sorting has no more secret for MetalBall !

MetalBall invests in a new checking equipment able to sort a lot of balls according to the material and the hardness. This quality testing applies to balls from Ø 3mm to Ø 6,35mm. This service can be carried out as part of Metalball production or as a service provision for balls from customer’s stock.

MetalBall a développé un module ordonnancement en lien avec sa GPAO. La saisie des temps par code barre en temps réel permet de visualiser l’avancement des phases de fabrication dans l’ensemble de l’atelier à l’aide d’écrans plats installés dans chaque zone. Le repositionnement d’ordre de fabrication par le Responsable de Production met à jour l’ensemble des plannings de l’atelier dès la modification.


We check chemical composition !

MetalBall has acquired a XRF analyzer able to identify the steel chemical composition. It strengthens the incoming inspection of material dedicated to manufacturing and of balls from our Supply-Chain. The energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analyzers, with traceable Empirical Calibration, assure real-time results that can be trusted.
This instrument is highly productive mobile testing tools for Positive Material Identification (PMI) and material quality assurance testing.


L’ultrason phase-vapeur nettoie les billes MetalBall ! -EN

Une nouvelle station ultrason phase-vapeur est utilisée en fin de fabrication pour nettoyer les billes les plus précises. L’installation est très compacte, elle permet un dégraissage, un nettoyage ultrason, un rinçage parfait et un séchage sans tâche. La machine est double puisqu’elle permet d’assurer un nettoyage des pièces et une régénération intégrale du fluide de nettoyage.
